2nd May 2025 – (Seoul) Actor Kim Soo-hyun has reportedly been hit with an additional lawsuit worth approximately 2.8 billion won from an advertiser. His agency, Gold Medalist, stated, “It has not yet been confirmed whether a lawsuit has been filed,” as they addressed the situation on 2nd May.
On the same day, it was revealed that Company D, which had a modelling contract with Kim, lodged a complaint with the Seoul Central District Court on 25th April, seeking damages due to negative sentiment stemming from recent allegations concerning his private life. The company claims it can no longer maintain the contract and holds Kim and his agency accountable for the termination.
Earlier, reports indicated that Companies A and B had already filed lawsuits against Kim Soo-hyun, seeking over 3 billion won in damages for modeling fees. Company C is also contemplating legal action, raising the potential total of lawsuits to over 10 billion won.
Amid these legal troubles, Kim Soo-hyun has been embroiled in allegations related to his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron. The bereaved family accused him of dating her while she was a minor, a claim he has vehemently denied, stating they only dated after she turned 18. He held an emergency press conference on March 31 to refute the allegations and subsequently filed defamation complaints against the family and the Garosero Research Institute.
Despite the controversies, Kim Soo-hyun’s popularity appears resilient. In a recent fan-voting poll, he climbed from seventh to third place, garnering 11,546 votes in the 110th round, overtaking actor-producer Kim Nam Gil. His fan club mobilized support through a campaign featuring 25 LED trucks displaying messages like “Truth Will Prevail” across Seoul.
The situation surrounding Kim has led to significant disruptions in his career, including halted filming for the Disney+ series “Knock-Off” and the removal of his images from various advertising campaigns. Yet, his fanbase continues to rally in his support amidst ongoing scrutiny.
