29th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) At about 10.16am, a boom‑lift truck preparing for external wall maintenance at the Aberdeen Fisheries and Marine Office, 100A Shek Pai Wan Road, reportedly struck the facade as its arm was raised, throwing a male and a female worker from a height of roughly six metres. Both sustained head injuries; the 62‑year‑old man, surnamed Au, was semi‑conscious, while the 57‑year‑old woman, surnamed Lo, was conscious. They were transported to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment, and police have opened an investigation.

According to initial accounts, the incident occurred as the crew was setting up to work above a metal cage structure attached to the building. After the fall, the boom arm was retracted and the vehicle left stationary within the compound. On site, one corner of the cage was visibly dented, and cracked glazing was observed on a pedestrian footbridge lift about ten metres from the frontage; it has yet to be determined whether the damage is linked to the accident. Bloodstains were seen near the entrance, and a colleague’s clothing was spattered as he assisted.
