31st October 2026 – (Ankara) Türkiye’s tourism industry posted a new record in revenue, with total earnings rising to 51.28 billion US dollars for the first nine months of 2026, representing an increase of 2.4 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to figures published on Friday. In the third quarter alone, tourism income reached 25.53 billion dollars, which is five per cent higher year-on-year, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute.

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy remarked during a press conference in Istanbul that both quarterly and nine-month tourism revenues have reached unprecedented levels. Between January and September, Türkiye welcomed 49.13 million visitors, with Russia, Germany, and Britain leading as the main sources of international arrivals. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism noted that the average spending per night by tourists climbed to 107.70 dollars, a rise of 4.6 per cent, while foreign tourists spent an average of 119.90 dollars per night.

Despite conflicts in the surrounding region, Türkiye had earlier revised its 2026 tourism revenue target down from 68 billion dollars to 65 billion dollars. However, Minister Ersoy expressed confidence that the country is now on course to surpass this target in overall tourism earnings by the end of the year.
