30th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) Nearly five million people signed up for the ticket ballot for McDonald’s Presents: Recording Sessions with Mr. Eason Chan, after two days of public registration closed at 11.59pm on 29th October with a final tally of 4,956,164 — just short of the five-million mark.
Organisers described the surge as rare even by Hong Kong concert standards. The run covers 26 recording sessions, and about nine-tenths of the tickets have been set aside for public sale through the ballot rather than private channels.
Faced with that volume of applications, the ticketing platform will begin further checks from today. Staff are to weed out duplicate registrations, abnormal or suspicious telephone numbers and email addresses, and entries that appear linked to scalping. Ballot results will be published only after that vetting is finished, in a bid to protect genuine fans’ chances of buying seats.
The organisers also said social media and websites have been flooded with posts claiming to offer ballot tips, help securing tickets or outright sales — some of them suspected scalper activity. They stressed that, so far, not a single ticket has been sold through this ballot process. Fans are urged not to trust anyone claiming to “hold tickets”, promising guaranteed entry or asking for payment in advance.
Suspicious sales activity has already been reported to the police for record, and monitoring will continue. Supporters are asked not to buy from touts or unknown sellers, lest they be cheated and let others profit from their enthusiasm for Chan.
Thanking fans for the near five-million registrations, the organisers again pledged that nine-tenths of tickets would go on public sale through the ballot and verification system, and asked everyone to wait patiently for official results rather than give scalpers an opening. The message was blunt: love of Chan’s music should not become a payday for touts trading on false promises before any seat has left the official system.
Registrants can check outcomes on designated dates via the official registration page by entering their confirmation number and registered mobile number. Successful applicants will receive a purchase-confirmation email at the registered address and a purchase verification code by text message — the only route organisers recognise for moving from ballot success to an actual booking.
First-round winners are due to be announced from Monday, 2nd November 2026, with buying open on 5th November from 11.00am to 11.59pm. Second-round results follow from Friday, 6th November, and that purchase window runs on 9th November from 3.00pm to 11.59pm. Full enquiry and buying details sit on the Cityline registration page.
