22nd October 2022 – (Taipei) Taiwanese singer Jay Chou has released a new song “Cold Hearted”, which incorporated R&B and Peking Opera resulting in a fusion music video integrating classical and modern. It was even more pleasantly surprised to see that he collaborated with the well-known American hip-hop dance group JABBAWOCKEEZ. JABBAWOCKEEZ members are very honored to be able to cooperate with him. Dance director Kevin Brewer is a fan of Bruce Lee. He has seen the movie “The Green Hornet” and admires Jay’s performance. He said that “Jay was playing Bruce Lee’s character Kato at the time. I admired his performance in the movie very much. This is also an important catalyst for us to participate in this collaboration, and it is a great thing to be able to cooperate with Jay!”
Earlier on 15th July this year, Chou released his much-awaited new album, “Greatest Work of Art”. The new Jay Chou Album released in July 2022, 6 years since the release of his last album, is titled “Greatest Work of Art” and contains 12 tracks, including a piano intro, six new songs, and five previously digitally released songs.
The Jabbawockeez is an American hip-hop dance crew that rose to prominence as the winner of the first season of America’s Best Dance Crew in 2008. Established in 2003 in San Diego, California when dancers Kevin “KB” Brewer and Joe Larot put together an innovative dance crew. They participated in dance competitions with the idea of disrupting the existing dance scene. At the time they felt that dance crews were clones of one another; were dancing to the “top” of the music instead of digging deep into the music, and they set out to do something different. With Jabbawockeez, they showcased freestyle dance, were able to strike a balance between dancing to the music, and dancing as an artistic expression.
