Signal system component failure at MTR Sheung Shui Station causes East Rail Lin train service disruption

24th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) A signal system component failure between Sheung Shui Station and the direction of Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau on the East Rail Line has resulted in a disruption of train services. In order to maintain smooth operations, adjustments are being made to the train schedule. Trains between Admiralty and Tai Po Market will run at a frequency of 4 minutes, between Admiralty and Lo Wu at a frequency of 6 minutes, and between Admiralty and Lok Ma Chau at a frequency of 12 minutes. Passengers are advised to allocate sufficient travel time for their journeys. Hong Kong MTR engineering personnel are currently on-site handling the situation.
