Apple expands Siri AI languages and adds upgrades in iOS 27.2

27th October 2026 – (Cupertino) Apple has broadened Siri AI’s reach with the iOS 27.2 family of updates, adding support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish across iPhone, iPad, Mac and other platforms. The company also outlined the next wave of localisation, confirming that Chinese (Traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are planned “by the end of the year”, a timeline that aligns with the expected iOS 27.3 cycle in December. While Chinese (Traditional) is on the near‑term roadmap, Siri AI remains unavailable in mainland China for the time being.

Alongside the language expansion, Apple has introduced several capability upgrades. Siri AI can now draw on conversation recall to maintain helpful context from previous exchanges, making it easier to pick up threads such as earlier restaurant suggestions. Personal context has been widened to include information such as photos shared in Messages, Calendar invitees, voicemail details and improved signals from Safari history and Reading List. Performance on Apple Watch has been tuned for quicker responses with watchOS 27.2, and the assistant continues to operate across devices so users can move between iPhone, iPad and Mac without losing continuity.

Apple is also deepening integration with everyday tasks and apps. The assistant can reference on‑screen content to take actions, coordinate information across multiple applications, and support writing workflows by drafting text and adjusting tone and punctuation to match user habits. Invocation methods have been broadened beyond the voice wake phrase to include hardware buttons and gesture‑based prompts, reflecting Apple’s push to make Siri AI more readily available in the moment. Further refinements are anticipated with the forthcoming software release later this year as additional languages come online.
