10th September 2026 – (Hong Kong) A male passenger required urgent medical assistance aboard a train at Cheung Sha Wan shortly after 7.00am, leading the MTR to announce temporary adjustments to Tsuen Wan line services. Journeys between Central and Tsuen Wan were expected to take an additional 10 to 15 minutes, and platforms along the line became congested. Tsuen Wan station was briefly closed due to overcrowding on the platform. Services gradually returned to normal, with the MTR confirming the incident had been resolved by 8.00am.
The man, believed to be in his sixties, was taken by ambulance to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment. Police said they received a report from MTR staff at 7.39am that the passenger had collapsed inside a carriage at Cheung Sha Wan station, and paramedics attended the scene.
The male passenger was later pronounced dead at 8.47am.
