22nd March 2022 – (Hong Kong) The popular local online forum (LIHKG) was removed from Apple’s App Store, arousing heated discussions among netizens. The management team of LIHKG stated that the incident was not voluntary, and it was related to Apple’s policy and would communicate with relevant parties.
It is reported that the delisting of the app is suspected to be related to a member’s message. At present, Apple users who have installed the app can still use it as usual, but it cannot be updated and users who have not installed the app cannot download it. The Google Play edition is still available for download as usual.
LIHKG is a multi-category forum website based in Hong Kong. The website has gained popularity since the launch in 2016, and is often referred to as the Hong Kong version of Reddit.
