30th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) The High Court heard on Thursday that Kwong Kau admitted a charge of preventing the lawful burial of Abby Choi, as jurors were directed by the judge to return a guilty verdict on that count. He spoke calmly when entering the plea, having previously denied the allegation. The proceedings form part of the continuing trial arising from the death of socialite and model Abby Choi Tin‑fung in 2023.

Three defendants stand accused: Anthony Kwong Kong‑kit, 31, a driver; Kwong Kau, 65, retired; and Alex Kwong Kong‑chi, 28, unemployed. They are charged with murdering Abby Choi on 21st February 2023 in Hong Kong, and with preventing the lawful burial of her body between 21st and 23rd February 2023.

The court earlier repeated the particulars of the burial‑prevention offence before taking Kwong Kau’s plea. Further proceedings on the remaining allegations are continuing.
