28th October 2026 – (Daqing) A couple in Daqing, Heilongjiang, drew wide online discussion after choosing takeaway food over parts of the conventional banquet at their hotel wedding on Monday, 26th October. The bride, surnamed Li, said she wanted friends to “eat whatever they like” rather than feel obliged to follow the usual multi‑course format, explaining that past experiences at formal banquets had felt costly and unsatisfying.

According to local media reports, the reception hosted around 30 tables, with three specifically arranged for food delivery items at a budget of about 1,000 yuan per table. The selections focused on items popular with younger guests, notably milk tea and fried chicken. The couple planned the event themselves, and family members supported their decision. The bride joked that, if not for accommodating elders, she would have preferred the entire banquet to be served as takeaway.
