24th October 2026 – (Pyongyang) Kim Yo-jong, a department director of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee, issued a fresh early-hours blast at Seoul on 22nd October, branding President Lee Jae-myung’s government “low-ability” and “hopelessly foolish” and telling the Blue House special adviser on defence policy to shut up at once.

According to the Korean Central News Agency, the tirade answered what Pyongyang called a “presumptuous” reaction the previous day from Kim Byung-joo, the presidential special adviser on defence policy. On social media, he had criticised her threat to restart loudspeaker broadcasts toward the South as shameless “thief crying thief” behaviour and demanded that the North apologise for provocations against South Korea.

Kim Yo-jong replied in kind, calling her target a “low-ability type with no shame, ignorant, irrational and illogical”. She accused Seoul of manufacturing a murky incident, bleeding itself, then shifting blame and transferring conflict — and of now brazenly interfering with North Korea’s wall-building. She said she had dealt with the Moon Jae-in and Yoon Suk-yeol administrations, yet the present “ox-cart” was even more muddled, with Blue House and government officials “a uniform lot of idiots” that revealed the “fragility and immaturity” of Lee’s government.

She insisted that permanent border works inside territory under North Korean sovereign control, and serving Pyongyang’s own purposes, would proceed correctly and to completion. Once the frontier was fortified, she argued, the risk of inter-Korean military clashes would fall sharply and many tangled problems would ease. “We are not provoking, but making a legitimate response,” she said.

Seoul was sternly warned not to keep obstructing the wall and not to talk of “military countermeasures” in a hot-tempered outburst. Whether intentional or not, even a momentary “slip”, she said, should be met with full mental preparation: everything might be “blown up, smashed and collapsed — too tragic”. New counter-measures would stand ready along the entire border line, and loudspeakers aimed at the South would enter standby within days.

The Blue House defence adviser, she added, must close his mouth immediately. If the South kept talking out of turn, stirring trouble and twisting words, the sitting administration would face the most wretched and bewildering situation. “This is not a threat but a clear warning,” she concluded — leaving the peninsula’s latest war of words tied to bricks, speakers and the risk of a single misstep.
