24th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) At about 2.36pm, officers on patrol along Hong Ting Road near Chui Tong Road in Sai Kung noticed a parked private car emitting a strong odour and saw a man seated in the driver’s seat who appeared unresponsive. Emergency crews were called and confirmed the man had died at the scene. A burned pan of charcoal was found on the rear seat and items including beer were located inside the vehicle.
Police used identification documents found in the man’s wallet to contact his family for formal identification. The cause of death will be determined by a forensic autopsy. It is understood the deceased, a 45‑year‑old man surnamed Ho, had reportedly been troubled by financial issues and left a note before leaving his residence last night, after which he could not be reached.
