18th June 2025 – (Tehran) Iranian state media has issued a cryptic statement warning of an imminent event “the world will remember for centuries,” heightening global concerns as tensions with Israel reach a critical juncture. The announcement follows a series of airstrikes and counterattacks between the two nations, adding further volatility to an already precarious geopolitical landscape.

This comes after Israeli ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, hinted at undisclosed strategic plans, warning that Israel still has “surprises up our sleeves” in its ongoing conflict with Iran. Leiter referenced prior impactful operations, such as Israel’s sabotage of Hezbollah communication networks in Lebanon last year, but declined to elaborate on the nature of future actions.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has ramped up pressure on Tehran, urging evacuations of the Iranian capital and hinting at potential U.S. military intervention. Trump has declared his intent to end hostilities decisively, stating that Iran could resolve the crisis by surrendering outright.

The escalating conflict has already sent shockwaves through global energy markets. Oil prices have surged sharply, climbing from $65 to $74 per barrel since the hostilities began, posing significant challenges to central banks’ inflation control efforts. The Bank of England, in particular, faces heightened pressure as rising energy costs ripple through the broader economy.

The conflict has also disrupted critical infrastructure. Israel’s Bazan Group, a key oil refinery operator, has suspended all operations following an Iranian missile strike, further exacerbating concerns about global supply chains and energy security.

Amid the uncertainty, several companies are turning to cryptocurrency as a hedge against geopolitical risks. Tysons-based software firm Strategy has bolstered its Bitcoin holdings with a $1.05 billion purchase of 10,100 BTC, despite the volatile market. Other firms, including Cantor-backed Twenty One, Trump Media, and GameStop, have similarly turned to digital assets as a diversification strategy for their corporate treasuries.
