XRP price loses 10% as crypto weakness deepens

16th September 2026 – (New York) XRP fell to $1.28 after a one‑day slide of about ten per cent, its steepest daily drop since 5th February, pulling the token out of the $1.40 to $1.45 range that had held over the previous day. The move came amid wider market weakness, with Bitcoin around $75,500, down about two per cent, and Ethereum below $2,400, off roughly four per cent, sharpening focus on whether XRP can stabilise following the abrupt reversal.

At current levels, XRP’s market value is estimated near $80 billion, representing about 3.34 per cent of the total cryptocurrency market, and remains roughly 65 per cent below its all‑time high of $3.65 set on 18th July last year. The token has slipped about 8.2 per cent over the past week and 10.4 per cent across the past month, underscoring the persistence of selling pressure despite intermittent rebounds.

Trading activity stayed heavy through the session, reflecting a volatile recovery attempt that quickly faded before sellers pressed prices back to $1.28. That leaves the $1.28 to $1.30 band as a near‑term pivot for market participants tracking whether buy orders can absorb supply or if another leg lower emerges as broader risk appetite in digital assets weakens.
