6th July 2026 – (Hong Kong) West Hotel, a long‑established hotel on Wai Ching Street in Jordan, ceased operations on 30th June 2026, becoming the fourth hotel in Hong Kong to shut its doors this year.

A notice posted outside the property confirmed the closure and thanked guests for their support over the years. Following the announcement, room bookings were no longer available across multiple online travel platforms, drawing attention from local residents and travellers.

Opened in 1998, the 20‑storey hotel had been in business for around 28 years. It offered 95 guest rooms and 19 themed suites, catering primarily to business and leisure visitors. Its location near the Hong Kong West Kowloon high‑speed rail station, Harbour City and the China Ferry Terminal had made it a convenient choice for travellers seeking easy access to transport and shopping districts.

West Hotel’s closure adds to a series of hotel shutdowns in the city this year. Other establishments that have ceased operations include Hotel COZi‧Oasis in Kwai Chung, Casa Hotel in Yau Ma Tei and Regal Oriental Hotel in Kowloon City. Several of these properties are expected to be converted into student accommodation, highlighting ongoing adjustments within Hong Kong’s hospitality sector as some operators reposition their assets for alternative uses.
