4th November 2026 – (Hong Kong) A diner reported on Threads at about 11.00am on 3rd November that three large and agile rats were seen scampering around a Thai restaurant inside Waldorf Garden Shopping Centre at 1 Tuen Lee Street, Tuen Mun, before one allegedly leapt onto a table and stared at the customer’s bowl of rice, prompting other patrons to rush out. Staff were said to have asked customers to take their plates to an older unit of the shop to continue eating, but the poster replied that they would not return, wryly adding that they could “take a photo with the head chef” in a nod to the animated film Ratatouille.
Video shared by the poster appeared to show rodents moving swiftly along ceiling pipes, with their size and speed drawing alarm.
