29th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) A road traffic incident in Kwai Chung late this evening led to the full closure of Kwai Chung Road towards Tsuen Wan after a private car reportedly lost control near MTR Lai King Station and struck water-filled barriers, overturning with its four wheels facing skywards at around 10.00pm. The male driver managed to climb out unaided and called the police. He was uninjured and did not require hospital treatment, with officers classifying the case as a traffic accident with no injuries. The collision caused significant congestion across the immediate area.
The Transport Department announced that, due to the accident, all Tsuen Wan-bound lanes of Kwai Chung Road between Lai King Estate and Kwai Foo Road were closed while emergency services handled the scene and recovery operations were arranged. Motorists were advised to expect delays and to follow on-site instructions as authorities worked to reopen the carriageway safely.
