28th July 2026 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung and actress Lisa Ch’ng have announced they will marry on 2nd August at the JW Marriott Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, marking the culmination of a relationship spanning ten years. Despite having only around two months to prepare, the couple said careful coordination by a professional team has allowed them to enjoy what they described as a busy yet joyful lead-up to their big day. While both say they currently feel relaxed, they anticipate inevitable nerves when the ceremony begins.

Considerable attention has been devoted to the bridal wardrobe, with total expenditure on the ceremonial gown, pre-wedding dresses and evening outfits for the reception exceeding HK$1 million. Ch’ng, known for her refined taste, selected an elegant and minimalist wedding gown created by a renowned Shanghai designer, reflecting her affinity for Shanghai design heritage through her mother’s background.

For her pre-wedding photographs in Hong Kong, Ch’ng wore a piece from The Atelier by Prof. Jimmy Choo’s Autumn/Winter 2026 haute couture collection, titled “Twilight Stellaris”. She is reported to be the first bride in Hong Kong to don a gown from the brand’s latest seasonal line. The design highlights her statuesque frame and features intricate detailing associated with the international couture house.

On the wedding day itself, she will also appear in a traditional Chinese kua crafted by Malaysian label Daniel Leslie, also known as D&L Fashion, alongside an embroidered Chinese-style gown incorporating handwritten-style motifs. For the evening reception, she has chosen creations from three prominent fashion houses: The Atelier by Prof. Jimmy Choo, Shanghai-based Woo Select and globally acclaimed Lebanese couture brand Zuhair Murad.

In preparation for the celebration, the couple travelled to Shanghai, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur to capture pre-wedding photographs, and also visited Guangzhou to film a creative wedding video. The production incorporated artificial intelligence technology to present personal and light-hearted moments from their relationship.

Although Yeung had previously spoken publicly about his intention to propose, which Ch’ng said reduced any sense of surprise, he ultimately orchestrated an unexpected gesture. During filming in Guangzhou, he knelt in the street during one scene and formally proposed, leaving Ch’ng visibly moved.
