2nd November 2026 – (Hong Kong) A dangerous incident was reported in the early hours when a 19‑year‑old driver travelling along Route Twisk near Shek Kong said his BMW was struck by a hard object thrown from roadside undergrowth by a man dressed in black, whom he described as a foreigner. Dashcam footage circulating online is understood to show the moment the object hit the vehicle as it negotiated a bend. The driver, who was accompanied by his girlfriend, said he slowed immediately and questioned the man in English before the individual vaulted a barrier and moved towards the car while loudly challenging him, prompting the couple to leave the scene for safety and call police.
The motorist stated he had been driving home at around 1.00am at a normal speed, with no modifications to his exhaust or prior interaction with the individual, and expressed shock at the unprovoked strike. After reaching a safe location at the foot of the hill, he reported the matter and waited for a period but did not see the man descend. A preliminary inspection found a dented bonnet and damage to a window, with repairs estimated at about HK$15,000, and the driver said he expected the cost would not be covered by insurance.
Police said the case is being treated as criminal damage, with the Yuen Long Criminal Investigation Team following up. Officers are seeking a man in black clothing in connection with the incident and are reviewing available footage as part of efforts to establish the sequence of events.
