Jimmy Lai braces the rain and leads protesters from Victoria Park together with Martin Lee and Joseph Zen


18th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) Jimmy Lai, the Apple Daily owner who was accused as the mastermind of the current civil unrest led the protest rally held at at the Victoria Park this afternoon by holding to a vertical banner together with Martin Lee, Chairman of Democratic Party and Joseph Zen, Cardinal of the Catholic Church from Hong Kong and a trustees of the 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund).

He was also interviewed by some foreign media and he said that the Beijing government would not send in their troops into Hong Kong. When asked if he would flee the city as there has been recent online rumour that the Beijing Government is clamping down pro-democracy leaders, he sternly denied.

He led the protesters like a chief commander and walked on Gloucester Road. His other close alliance Lee Cheuk-yan and Albert Ho were also walking alongside him in the rain.
