17th June 2025 – (Tehran) Two powerful explosions were reported in central and northern Tehran on Tuesday, as Israel’s military campaign against Iran entered its fifth consecutive day. Eyewitnesses described loud blasts, though details on their exact locations or causes remain unclear.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed via social media platform X that Iran’s Natanz nuclear site, home to key enrichment facilities, sustained direct impacts during Israeli strikes. The agency stated that satellite imagery revealed damage to underground enrichment halls at the site.

Earlier, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israeli Air Force would continue targeting “strategic regime and infrastructure sites” in Tehran. Katz added that evacuation warnings would be issued to residents near strike zones. He also highlighted the underground Fordow facility as a significant concern, claiming that Israeli forces are “on the verge of destroying” over 10 nuclear-related sites in Tehran, leveraging their air superiority in the region.

Meanwhile, a fire reportedly reignited at the headquarters of Iranian state television in Tehran, which had been severely damaged in an Israeli strike the previous day. The broadcaster stated that wind had caused the fire to flare up again, following an initial attack that killed three people.

The conflict, which began with surprise Israeli airstrikes across Iran last Friday, has escalated into a deadly confrontation. At least 244 fatalities have been reported in Iran, with 24 deaths in Israel. The situation marks one of the most significant escalations between the two nations in recent years, with no immediate signs of de-escalation.
