11th October 2019 – (Hong Kong) A 15-year-old teenage girl, Chan who went missing at Mei Foo MTR Station on 19th September. A dead body was found in the sea near Yau Tong three days ago but police only confirmed the deceased to be Chan, a student at Hong Kong Design Institute three weeks later. Since the news of her death spread all over social media, many have speculated and alleged that she was murdered by the police force.
Over 10 people clad in black gathered at Hong Kong Design Institute this morning for a memorial service to remember her. Chan was apparently an active protester who took part in many street rallies and she was also a professional swimmer before she passed away. Flowers were laid on the benches while candles were lit. There were more than 40 people who observed moments of silence by sitting on the ground.
More civilians continued to turn up at Hong Kong Design Institute this evening to pay their last respect to Chan.
