30th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong Tourism Board has agreed a five‑year strategic partnership with Vinexposium to stage Vinexpo Asia exclusively in Hong Kong from 2027 through 2031, with plans to extend the trade exhibition beyond the show floor and turn it into a citywide celebration of wine and spirits aimed at higher‑spending visitors and broader economic impact across tourism, hospitality, dining and retail.
At a ceremony in Hong Kong, the memorandum of understanding was signed by Anthony Lau, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and Déborah Sanchez, Overseas Events Director at Vinexposium. The signing was witnessed by HKTB Chairman Dr Peter Lam; Miss Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism; Fabien Robert, Deputy Mayor of Bordeaux; and Philippe Tapie, an elected member of the Bordeaux Gironde Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Anthony Lau has led the HKTB since August 2025, while Rosanna Law has served as Secretary since December 2024, and Fabien Robert holds a deputy mayoral brief in Bordeaux.
HKTB said the agreement cements Hong Kong’s role as the exclusive host city for Vinexpo Asia over five consecutive years and underscores confidence among international organisers and the global industry in the city’s position as a leading regional hub. The partners intend to scale the programme across dining, culture and lifestyle venues so that trade buyers, producers and professionals can engage in both on‑site and off‑site experiences that showcase the city’s gastronomy and bolster business exchange.
Dr Peter Lam described the deal as a milestone aligning with Hong Kong’s broader push to reinforce its status as the World’s Meeting Place, noting the complementary roles of Vinexpo Asia and the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival in promoting wine culture, stimulating market interest and supporting supply‑chain activity. Philippe Tapie said anchoring Vinexpo Asia in Hong Kong for five editions would give producers and buyers the continuity they value to plan and grow, while deepening ties between the international wine and spirits community and the city’s hospitality and lifestyle sectors.
Vinexposium said the multi‑year horizon provides certainty for global participants as the organiser expands content and outreach in Asia. The group’s international leadership team includes Overseas Events Director Déborah Sanchez alongside senior figures overseeing strategy, brands and APAC operations.
The HKTB added that bringing high‑quality MICE events to Hong Kong remains a priority to widen premium visitor segments and drive the multiplier effects of major shows across the local economy, with Vinexpo Asia positioned as a flagship for sustained growth in trade, experiences and inbound travel.
