26th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) HK Electric announced that its fuel charge for November will be 55.1 Hong Kong cents per kilowatt‑hour, a reduction of 4.2 cents from October. Including the basic tariff, the average net tariff for November comes to 183 cents per kilowatt‑hour, representing a 2.2 per cent decrease month on month. The utility said the monthly fuel adjustment mechanism incorporates a deferral effect, meaning the latest charge primarily reflects fuel costs incurred between July and September.
CLP, by contrast, will raise its November fuel charge by 1.2 cents to 47.4 cents per kilowatt‑hour. Both companies noted that international oil and natural gas prices remain volatile, with future adjustments depending on movements in global fuel markets. HK Electric added it would continue to monitor energy conditions closely and pursue prudent procurement to secure stable, compliant supply while cushioning customers from price swings.
