7th June 2023 – (Hong Kong) After a four-year hiatus, the FIVB Volleyball Nations League will return to Hong Kong on Tuesday, 13th June. The highly anticipated event has attracted a huge crowd, including media personnel, as the Chinese women’s volleyball team arrived in the city on Sunday night. The team’s captain, Yuan Xinyue, waved to the gathered crowd, and many tourists stopped to take photos.
The Chinese women’s volleyball team, which is immensely popular in Hong Kong, will seek to defend their title in the upcoming tournament, which will take place at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Aside from China, the tournament will also feature teams from Italy, Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Poland, the Netherlands, Canada, and Bulgaria. The Chinese team will play four games in Hong Kong, facing Canada on 13th June Bulgaria on 16th June, Poland on 17th June, and Italy on 18th June. All games will start at 8.30pm.
The Chinese team currently holds a perfect record in the tournament, winning all four games at the VNL Nagoya stop in the first week of the tournament.
The FIVB Volleyball Nations League Hong Kong stop will take place from 13th to 18th June at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Tickets are priced between HK$140 and HK$1,280 and can be purchased at www.urbtix.hk.
