16th September 2026 – (New York) A second consecutive session of significant net outflows has been recorded in US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds, with investors withdrawing a total of $295.9 million on 17th September, according to data from Farside Investors. This follows Tuesday’s outflows of $450.4 million, taking cumulative net redemptions over the two-day period to $746.3 million.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) experienced the largest outflow, with $144.1 million withdrawn. Ark Invest and 21Shares’ ARKB recorded outflows amounting to $84.4 million, while $52.7 million was removed from Fidelity’s FBTC. Grayscale’s GBTC saw $18.2 million in net outflows, whereas only MSBT registered an inflow, totalling $3.5 million. Other spot Bitcoin ETFs, including BITB, BTCO, EZBC, BRRR, HODL, BTCW and the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF, showed no material net flows during the session.

The sequence of redemptions has contributed to a noticeable slowdown in institutional buying, prompting market analysts to forecast potential resistance for Bitcoin near the $76,425 mark. Despite registering an oversold relative strength index, technical indicators such as the bearish MACD and a slip below the 20-day moving average suggest that a clear reversal has not yet materialised. If the Bitcoin price maintains support at $75,100, a recovery to $78,000 may be possible; failure to hold this level could result in a drop towards $73,500.

With net overseas migration and interest rates both remaining high, investors are reported to be reassessing asset allocations. Looking ahead, the outlook for spot Bitcoin ETFs points to continuing volatility as market participants monitor supply and demand trends alongside broader economic conditions.
