24th July 2024 – (Bangkok) A young woman, identified as Gwendoline Cretton, a 24-year-old Hong Kong national with dual Swiss citizenship, was found dead on 18th July. The incident took place near her residence, and CCTV footage captured her husband’s car engaging in what can only be described as “mysterious loitering.”
Prior to the incident, neighbours reported hearing a woman screaming at around 6.15pm that evening. The woman’s husband, identified as Wai Kit, who had tied the knot with Gwendoline earlier this year, along with two companions, carried her out of their residence and swiftly left the scene. These events were captured by nearby surveillance cameras.
While Wai Kit claimed that his girlfriend had taken her own life, local authorities have cast doubts on his account. The police have shifted their focus towards a potential murder investigation, as preliminary findings suggest foul play.
During initial questioning by the police, Wai Kit insisted that Gwendoline had committed suicide. However, after a thorough examination of the crime scene and a review of the surveillance footage, various inconsistencies were discovered, leading investigators to believe that this may indeed be a case of homicide. As a result, Wai Kit has become a person of interest and is currently under intensive investigation.
The last known sighting of Gwendoline Cretton alive was captured by a nearby CCTV camera, shortly before the incident. In the footage, she can be seen casually walking her dog on the street at around 5.30pm, just 45 minutes before the tragic event occurred. Her demeanour appeared normal, showing no signs of distress or indicating any intention of self-harm. Simultaneously, Wai Kit’s distinctive yellow car was observed lingering near her residence.
Thai media outlets have published alleged photographs of the victim, Gwendoline Cretton, and managed to retrieve her Instagram account. However, all posts on her account have been made private, with only her profile picture remaining visible.
