1st March 2026 – (Hong Kong) Cathay Pacific has suspended all of its Middle East operations on 1st March 2026 in response to the rapidly evolving security situation in the region. The airline confirmed that passenger flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh have been cancelled for the day. Services that would ordinarily transit through Middle Eastern airspace are being diverted to alternative routes.
The carrier said it is offering affected passengers greater flexibility by waiving fees for rebooking and rerouting. Customers have been urged to review and adjust their travel arrangements via the airline’s official website and to consult the latest updates before heading to the airport.
Cathay Pacific stated that the safety of passengers and crew remains its overriding priority and that operations to or over the region will only resume once conditions have been carefully assessed.
Airlines cancelled or postponed at least 27 flights from Hong Kong to Middle Eastern destinations on Sunday after a joint United States–Israel strike on Iran triggered widespread airspace closures, leaving large numbers of travellers stranded at the airport. Hundreds of passengers gathered at Hong Kong International Airport seeking information about disrupted services, particularly those bound for Riyadh, Doha and Dubai.
