18th July 2026 – (Hong Kong) Cathay has announced a delay to the planned reinstatement of its passenger and cargo operations to the Middle East, citing recent developments in the region.

The airline said its daily passenger service to Dubai will now resume on 25th October 2026, while four weekly flights to Riyadh are scheduled to restart on 26th October 2026. Both routes had originally been due to recommence on 1st September 2026. Customers affected by the revised timetable will be offered options to rebook onto alternative services, reroute their journeys or obtain a refund.

In addition, Cathay Cargo’s freighter flights to Riyadh, previously expected to resume on 1st August 2026, have also been deferred. The company said it will reassess the appropriate timing for restoring the cargo operation.

The carrier added that it will continue to keep the situation in the Middle East under close review before confirming any further changes.
