2nd November 2026 – (Washington) President Donald Trump will travel to Shenzhen for the Asia‑Pacific Economic Cooperation summit on 18th to 19th November, while First Lady Melania Trump is not expected to accompany him. Her office said she is not scheduled to attend the events in person linked to the Shenzhen programme.
People familiar with the plans indicated the president will visit the Philippines to take part in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit before heading to China, and that although invitations were extended for the First Lady to participate, she is likely to remain in the United States because the engagements in China and the Philippines are not state visits, reducing the scope for separate appearances. The Shenzhen gathering is set to include another meeting between President Trump and President Xi Jinping, following earlier encounters this year, with protocol and scheduling still being finalised ahead of the mid‑November dates.
