The encounter followed the singer’s recent Hong Kong shows on his After Hours Til Dawn tour, which drew widespread attention locally.
Chan referenced her craft venture Happy Yarn, the one‑stop crochet brand she founded in 2023, which promotes the motto “the more you stitch, the happier you get” while offering yarns, tools, finished pieces and a range of instructor‑led workshops. The brand has become a visible presence among local families and hobbyists since its launch.
She also noted that her elder daughter, Josephine, has been a fan of The Weeknd since the age of 11 and was thrilled to speak with him, adding that her younger daughter received a signed guitar. The meeting appeared to have been facilitated through actress Carina Lau, whom Chan tagged in her social‑media post; Lau is married to actor Tony Leung Chiu‑wai.
