28th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) Multiple video clips circulating online show a man wearing a grey top emblazoned with the letters “YLK” being stopped by a convenience store employee inside Waldorf Shopping Centre in Tuen Mun. The staff member, who repeatedly called out for help and urged bystanders to contact police, alleged the individual had visited the store on several occasions and taken goods worth roughly $500 in total. The man attempted to leave, saying he needed to get to work, but the employee refused to let him go.
The footage shows the employee gripping the man by the shoulder and demanding he produce unpaid items, while the man denied wrongdoing before being pulled back. He later appeared to plead for leniency and offered to compensate, according to the staff member heard in the clips, who insisted payment be made and continued to restrain him as the pair moved to another spot in the mall. A second man in a similar “YLK” uniform approached briefly and then returned. The videos end without revealing the immediate outcome. Members of the public commenting online urged the store to report the matter to police and praised the employee’s action.
