28th August 2026 – (Kuala Lumpur) Authorities at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 have launched an investigation after a decomposed body was discovered in the landing gear compartment of a passenger aircraft arriving from Tokyo on 27th August. The police sealed off the area and forensic teams were deployed to examine the scene following the grim discovery, which occurred during a routine maintenance inspection roughly twenty-five minutes after the flight touched down at 6.30am.
Engineers conducting the inspection were alerted by a strong odour before opening the landing gear bay, where they subsequently found the remains. The deceased, believed to be a man in his twenties, was dressed in a white shirt and jeans. Initial forensic assessment indicated that death had taken place more than seventy-two hours prior, with advanced decomposition evident on the body.
Police have yet to determine the identity or exact cause of death, as no identification documents were recovered at the scene. However, investigators believe it is likely the individual clandestinely entered the confined landing gear space before the aircraft departed from Tokyo. Inquiries and identification procedures are continuing as the authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
