25th August 2026 – (Hong Kong) Sugar Daddy has officially opened its doors in Wan Chai, instantly catching attention with its bright powder pink and lipstick red interiors and a distinctive, playful concept. Conceived by renowned pastry chef Fabio Bardi, who was recognised as Best Pastry Chef at the 2024 Tatler Dining Awards, the petite pasticceria makes its mark with a whimsical approach that never compromises on quality. Guests are treated to a tempting array of Italian delights, from soft cornetti and delicate piccola pasticceria to indulgent bomboloni, creamy gelato and an array of expertly crafted coffees. Among the highlights are Bardi’s signature maritozzi, traditional Roman brioche buns generously filled with fresh cream, offering a decadent yet balanced indulgence.

Having honed his craft in the kitchens of London, Paris and New York, as well as leading Hong Kong venues including the three-Michelin-starred 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana, Estro and Dang Wen Li by Dominique Ansel, Bardi brings his global experience to this new venture. Sugar Daddy’s philosophy centres on lower-sugar recipes, natural ingredients and a strict avoidance of artificial additives. All pastries and gelato are prepared fresh daily to ensure exceptional quality. In a move to accommodate all visitors, the menu also features a curated selection of vegan, sugar-free and dairy-free options, reinforcing the dedication to balanced indulgence. With its cheeky branding and commitment to uncompromising Italian standards, Sugar Daddy delivers a refreshingly modern take on Italy’s pastry classics, making it a lively new addition to the Wan Chai neighbourhood.
