17th June 2026 – (Hong Kong) Defence lawyers for film executive and actor Raymond Wong Pak‑ming applied at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts today (17th June) to withdraw his bail pending appeal. Magistrate Ko Wai‑hung approved the request, ordering Wong to commence his five‑month custodial term at once.
Wong, 78, was earlier convicted of insider trading and fined more than HK$99,000 after the court found he encouraged his sister to buy shares in Transmit Entertainment Limited (formerly Pegasus Entertainment Holdings) ahead of a 2017 sale agreement. He had initially been granted bail while preparing an appeal, but today’s successful defence application resulted in the immediate execution of his prison sentence.
