20th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) Chan Ho-tin, ex-convener of Hong Kong National Party called upon civilians to withdraw all their savings from Chinese state-owned banks in the city on 16th August to paralyse the banking system.

Gary Chung, a pro-Beijing celebrity make-up artist whose clients included Carrie Lam posted a picture of his HSBC Premier bank account with HK$10,000,000 on his Facebook and wrote a shoutout, ‘The minimum saving required at HSBC is HK$1,000,000 but today, I deposited HK$10,000,000. His antics drew several criticism from netizens and one even posted an American Express Centurion Card in retaliation. He then removed his post immediately.

However, the saga has not ended, another local Youtuber, J also posted recently his Hong Kong Jockey Club together with some American banknotes on social media while Gary immediately posted a footage of himself boarding a private jet with a caption, ‘I am so lucky that my clients allow me to board private jets’. I am not affected by those ‘irritating people’ who keep obstructing the airport. He then added a hashtag to insinuate the the Youtuber with a caption ‘some idiot thinks he can board a private jet with a HKJC platinum card’.
