24th November 2020 – (Hong Kong) In response to the fourth wave of the COVID-19 epidemic in Hong Kong, the organiser for the Hong Kong Book Fair, which was originally scheduled for next month, announced yesterday (24th) that it was postponed again. The 28th JMA Hong Kong International Jewelry Show which is also scheduled to open this Thursday (26th), decided to continue for 4 consecutive days as plan. The event will be held at the Wan Chai Convention and Exhibition Centre, a total of 280 exhibitors will participate in the exhibition. During the period, various strict epidemic prevention measures will be implemented, including the requirement that all visitors must be authenticated with their real names and must submit health declaration forms. No food and drinks will be allowed at the venue. However, some exhibitors felt helpless about the jewellery festival being held as scheduled and worried that the epidemic would increase the risk of transmission.
The Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers Association also emphasised that this exhibition is very important to exhibitors. If the exhibition is cancelled now, the impact on the entire industry will be immeasurable. The Association will actively cooperate with the epidemic prevention policies promulgated by various government departments and make adjustments according to the development of the epidemic to ensure effective prevention of the spread of the epidemic.
