15th January 2025 – (January) Ripple has pledged $100,000 in XRP to support recovery efforts for communities affected by the ongoing wildfires in California. The donation will benefit nonprofit organisations World Central Kitchen and GiveDirectly, which focus on both immediate relief and long-term rebuilding efforts.
Facilitated through the crypto philanthropy platform The Giving Block, Ripple’s contribution is set to have an even greater impact thanks to a matching pledge from entrepreneur Jared Isaacman. This collaboration underscores the potential of cryptocurrency in enhancing charitable initiatives.
In a tweet, Ripple announced, “We are donating $100,000 in XRP through @TheGivingBlock to @WCKitchen and @GiveDirectly to aid in wildfire relief efforts in California. Thanks to @rookisaacman, our donation will be doubled. You can help families and first responders too. Your crypto, cash, and stock donations matter.”
The initiative reflects Ripple’s commitment to supporting disaster relief through cryptocurrency donations, highlighting the increasing role of blockchain technology in charitable giving.
