Kowloon Mosque And Islamic Centre closed after a COVID-19 infected patient visited last Friday

16th March 2020 – (Hong Kong) The 151st new case today involved a 30-year-old foreign male patient who visited West Africa and Dubai from 15th February to last Tuesday (10th) and arrived in Dubai on Tuesday on Emirates EK380. He developed cough symptoms on the 8th of this month. After arriving in Hong Kong, he lived with his friend at the Whole Sunshine International Hotel in Chungking Mansion in Tsim Sha Tsui. In addition, he visited Kowloon Mosque And Islamic Centre in TST last Friday and stayed there for 15 minutes. He wore a mask during his brief stay at the mosque and he also bought electrical appliances in Cheung Sha Wan. His friend had already returned to Dubai.

Kowloon Mosque And Islamic Centre announced tonight that the mosque will be closed with immediate effect until further notice. They will also comply with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection to conduct disinfection at the premises.
