31st October 2026 – (Hong Kong) At 7.43pm this evening, emergency services responded to an incident at Sorrento, 1 Austin Road West in West Kowloon, after a woman walking on a platform was struck by a man who had apparently fallen from a higher level. A companion of the woman quickly called for assistance, and both casualties were found to be conscious when rescuers arrived. The man was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment, while the woman was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital.
Preliminary information suggests the man had been attending a barbecue gathering at the residential clubhouse and is suspected to have lost his footing after consuming alcohol, resulting in his fall onto the platform below, where he struck the foreign domestic worker. The man wore a neck brace and was carried into the hospital on a stretcher, visibly in pain, with a female companion by his side. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
