17th August 2026 – (Hong Kong) At approximately 11.19am, a security guard at Tak Yan House, Tai Tin Estate in Lam Tin became concerned after noticing an unusual odour coming from one of the flats and contacted the police, suspecting someone inside may have lost consciousness.
Emergency personnel quickly responded, with firefighters forcibly opening the door to gain entry. Inside, they discovered the body of a 57-year-old male resident, surnamed Yiu, lying in the living room. Paramedics who attended the scene confirmed that Mr Yiu was already deceased upon their arrival. Police have since launched an investigation and will arrange for a post-mortem examination to establish the precise cause of death.
It is understood that Mr Yiu had a known medical history prior to his passing.
