26th July 2025 – (New York) Citigroup has projected that Bitcoin could surge to $135,000 by the conclusion of 2025 in its base-case scenario, driven by robust demand from U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), expanding user adoption, and favourable macroeconomic trends.
Citigroup’s recent analysis also presents an optimistic scenario of $199,000 should ETF inflows and adoption accelerate, alongside a more cautious prediction of $64,000 in case of regulatory or economic hurdles. Despite fluctuating U.S. economic indicators, Bitcoin has displayed strength, trading within the $115,000 to $120,000 range in the past week. Citigroup highlights that institutional interest, notably through ETFs, has significantly influenced recent price shifts, with corporate treasuries also contributing to the demand surge. The forecast has generated positivity on social media platforms, with users emphasizing the increasing faith from Wall Street in the primary cryptocurrency. Citigroup’s assessment underscores Bitcoin’s growing assimilation into conventional finance (TradFi).
