Xinyi auto glass arm eyes US$6 billion to US$7 billion IPO

27th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) Xinyi Glass Holdings is preparing to list its automotive glass business in Hong Kong next year, with people familiar with the plan telling IFR, part of LSEG, that the spin-off could raise between US$6 billion and US$7 billion.

The parent said at the end of August that Xinyi Automobile Glass had already lodged a listing application with Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, seeking a Main Board listing and permission to deal. That filing set the regulatory clock running for a separate quote of the unit that has long sat inside the wider Xinyi glass group.

Automotive glass is one of Xinyi’s three core businesses and has operated for nearly 40 years. Measured by revenue, the division ranks first worldwide in aftermarket automotive glass products — a franchise built on replacement demand as much as original-equipment supply, and one the group now wants valued on its own.

A Hong Kong float in that size band would rank among the larger industrial spin-offs on the local exchange if completed near the top of the indicated range. Timing remains next year rather than an immediate bookbuild, leaving room for market conditions, regulator comments on the prospectus and any final decision on how much of the equity is offered to new investors versus distributed to existing Xinyi Glass shareholders.

Investors will watch whether the deal prices the aftermarket leadership at a premium to ordinary float glass peers and how proceeds are split between growth capital for the auto glass platform and any return of value to the parent’s register. Until the offering circular is published, the US$6 billion to US$7 billion figure remains a sourced fundraising range rather than a hard underwriting commitment, but it marks the clearest size guidance yet attached to a listing path the company already started with its August Main Board application.
