13th March 2025 – (Seoul) The late South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron reportedly resolved a significant financial dispute with the production company behind the series Bloodhounds by personally pleading for leniency. According to Korean media reports, the company initially demanded 70 billion won (approximately HK$373.9 million) as compensation. However, after Kim Sae-ron visited the company and knelt down in a direct appeal, the amount was reduced to 7 billion won (approximately HK$37.4 million).

The revelations have reignited public discourse about the challenges Kim faced during that period, with many expressing sympathy for her ordeal.

This development follows a series of allegations involving Kim Sae-ron and actor Kim Soo-hyun, who were rumoured to have been in a six-year secret relationship. The controversy escalated after photos of the pair, including intimate moments of them cheek-to-cheek and kissing, were leaked. Messages allegedly sent by Kim Sae-ron pleading with Kim Soo-hyun for help have further fuelled public interest.

In 2022, Kim Soo-hyun’s company reportedly covered a 7 billion won debt on Kim Sae-ron’s behalf. While repayment was initially not requested, Kim Soo-hyun later demanded the full amount be reimbursed in a lump sum. Kim Sae-ron, unable to meet such terms, requested an instalment plan, which was rejected. The actor’s reputation has since taken a hit, with Korean media threatening to release more details unless he issues a formal apology.

The Garosero Research Institute, a prominent YouTube channel, has continued to release photos and information about the pair’s alleged relationship. The channel also claimed Kim Soo-hyun was romantically involved with actress Seo Ye-ji during his relationship with Kim Sae-ron, further complicating the narrative.
