14th September 2021 – (Hong Kong) The government will open a total of 800 units at the Penny’s Bay Quarantine Centre on Lantau Island next Monday (20th) for foreign domestic helpers who have completed COVID-19 vaccination for quarantine purposes. Appointments for quarantine bookings started at 9am this morning (14th).
The person who makes the booking needs to register the identity information of the foreign domestic helper subject to quarantine.
CHEUNG Kit–man, Chairman of Hong Kong Employment Agencies Association said that bookings at Penny’s Bay Quarantine Centre could be made until the 19th of next month, but 5 minutes after the system opened today, bookings were full. The locations that the government has opened to foreign domestic helpers for quarantine include Phase I and Phase II of the Penny’s Bay Quarantine Centre, which are available to those who have completed vaccinations in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
The cost is HK$480 per night (including three meals and all expenses). Employers and employment agencies must book through the reservation system of the Labour Department’s foreign domestic helper website (www.fdh.labour.gov.hk). There are only 50 quotas per day.
