1st November 2026 – (Hong Kong) Crowds thronging Lan Kwai Fong on Halloween night were jolted by a street fight captured in a widely shared 35‑second video posted to Threads, in which a young man dressed in black is surrounded on a staircase and struck by several South Asian men. The footage shows an initial slap and hard shove before the black‑clad man swings back, prompting the group to force him to the ground and rain blows on his head and body. One attacker appears to grab a bottle from the ground and smash it, while the victim shields his head with his hands and is unable to respond, as the assailants shout and then walk off.
Amid the scuffle, a male cleaner calmly wheels away his trolley and continues working nearby, an unruffled reaction that drew widespread comment and unexpected praise online. Viewers condemned the beating as excessive, noting repeated blows to the head and the bottle smash, while remarking on the cleaner’s composure as he quietly resumed his duties.
