29th October 2023 – (New York) Former President Donald Trump launched a series of scathing attacks on Judge Arthur Engoron, the presiding judge in his New York civil fraud trial, following a ruling that mandated his daughter, Ivanka Trump, to testify. Taking to Truth Social, Trump disparaged Judge Engoron as “unhinged” and an “out of control ‘Nut Job’,” arguing that Ivanka Trump should not be required to testify since she was dismissed as a defendant in June.
Expressing his strong opinions, Trump accused the judge of being “CRAZY” and driven by an intense hatred for him. In addition, Trump labeled Engoron as “grossly incompetent,” a “partisan political hack,” and a “Radical Trump Hater” in another post. This is not the first time that Trump has targeted Engoron and other individuals involved in the case, including New York Attorney General Tish James.
Trump’s attacks on Engoron escalated when he shared a picture of the judge’s clerk posing with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, falsely claiming that she was Schumer’s “girlfriend.” In response, Judge Engoron imposed a gag order, preventing the former president from making derogatory remarks about court staff. Trump’s violation of the gag order for the second time resulted in a $10,000 fine imposed on Wednesday.
The lawsuit against Trump was filed by New York Attorney General Tish James in a New York court last year, alleging extensive business fraud on the part of the former president. Trump is also facing multiple criminal investigations at both the state and federal levels.
