31st October 2026 – (Hong Kong) Police rushed to Tai Mong Tsai campsite in Sai Kung at about 12.40am after being alerted to a post on Threads in which a man asked netizens to call the authorities. Officers located a 30‑year‑old man, surnamed Wong, lying unconscious inside a tent with signs of burned charcoal nearby. He was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for emergency treatment and later regained consciousness, remaining under medical care.

Officers subsequently contacted the man’s wife, a woman surnamed Wu of the same age, and initial inquiries indicate the couple had been experiencing marital difficulties and that he did not wish to proceed with divorce. Police said there was no immediate indication of foul play but the investigation is continuing.

The episode comes less than a month after a separate fatal charcoal‑burning case at the same campsite on 8th October involving a 38‑year‑old woman surnamed Lau who had earlier expressed suicidal thoughts online. Authorities urged members of the public to seek help promptly if they or those around them are struggling with emotional distress, noting that support is available through local counselling and crisis‑prevention services.
