3rd November 2026 – (Taichung) Hong Kong internet personality Lau Wai-kin, better known as Toyz, left prison in Changhua today on parole and was taken straight to Taichung Airport, where Taiwan’s National Immigration Agency carried out a forced removal, with scene footage released of the transfer.

Mr Lau had entered Taiwan on business grounds. In May 2024 he began serving a finalised sentence of four years and two months for selling cannabis vapour cartridges. The Taiwan High Court Taichung Branch ruled on 20th October that he could be released on parole subject to protective supervision. Prosecutors at the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office Taichung Branch then ordered expulsion in place of that supervision, and the Immigration Agency’s Central District Corps Changhua County Special Operations Team was tasked with taking him out of custody and off the island.

Officers from the Changhua team went to Changhua Prison today to collect him, completed the removal paperwork and escorted him to Taichung Airport for departure. He is barred from returning to Taiwan for a set period. Photographs and clips of the transfer were released after the agency confirmed the operation had been carried out, showing the final stretch from the prison gate to the departure hall under escort.
